The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said results of the Kogi State governorship election being posted on the social media are misleading as they are not from them.
Writing through its official twitter handle @inecnigeria, with the hashtag #KogiDecides, the electoral body said it would make the results known publicly at the appropriate time.
“INEC wishes to state that results of Kogi Gov. election being posted on Social Media are inaccurate and should be disregarded.
“Official results will subsequently be announced and the winner of the election declared by the INEC’s returning officer,” INEC wrote in subsequent tweets.Saturday, 21 November 2015
