Former Political Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, has described the rebranding effort of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a waste of time.
Alhaji Gulak, who has instituted a suit against the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party over the vacant National Chairmanship of PDP, said he has exhausted all internal mechanism to ensure that the constitutional provisions are adhered to and complied with in filling the vacant chairmanship position.
The former political adviser, who addressed a press conference in Abuja Friday, said he is challenging the continued existence of NWC without being properly constituted.
“That is my case in court and it is on behalf of myself and the entire North-east zone consisting of six states that have been excluded and ignored by the Uche Secondus led committee,” he said.
He regretted that the North-east zone, even with two PDP states has nobody in the NWC whereas North-west with no PDP controlled state has two NWC officials – the National Treasurer and National Organising Secretary.
