IGP Speaks On Election Security

The Inspector General of police Solomon Arase has charged commanders of the police force to ensure the upcoming Kogi and Bayelsa states elections are violence-free and transparent. Speaking with the MOPOLl squadron commanders in Abuja, the IGP said the country demands nothing short of commitment and professionalism from them. Arase also disclosed that the police are mapping out ways to deploy men to liberated areas in the northeast to aid the return to normalcy. The meeting with more commanders of nationwide is the first since his posting as the police inspector general.
