PDP hits back at Tinubu over Kogi poll prediction

The Kogi State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his alleged demeaning statement about Governor Idris Wada. The reaction comes after the All Progressives Congress leader reportedly predicted a loss for Wada in the upcoming governorship poll. “One emperor came to our state to say Governor Idris Wada is a goner. He is not God neither is our state Lagos where one man is more powerful than the state," Yomi Ogunmola the state Publicity Secretary, said. "The only powerful people here are you Kogites. No godfather rules Kogi State. Kogi State is bigger than any single individual or group of people,” the spokesperson said. The official said the citizens of the state will determine the political destiny of Wada on Saturday and not some "power thirsty godfathers from Lagos or group of Lagos business men who see politics as an avenue of investment." “No human being outside this state no matter how highly placed, powerful or rich can determine what will happen here on Saturday. Kogi people will guard their votes with their lives,” PDP added.Wada is the incumbent in the elections set for the weekend. - CAJ News
