Ahead of next Saturday’s Kogi governorship election, a coalition of civil society organizations on electoral matters has expressed concern over the likelihood of violence in parts of the state in the build-up to Election Day to provoke the deployment of security operatives.
The group said it based its findings on inciting statements made by some persons taking part in the election.
The coalition advised president Muhammadu Buhari to resist the temptation to deploy soldiers to the state during the election.
